Araeia is a Philly bred, LA based director, writer and graduate of Temple University. Heavily influenced by hippie parents and the rich music scene of her hometown— her soulful narrative style centers the beauty and intersectional experiences of women, BIPOC and other underrepresented characters.
She is most passionate about showcasing the extraordinary in the ordinary.
Araeia’s wheelhouse ranges from creative brand development to directing films, music videos and commercials. She earned her stripes production managing commercials for companies like Prettybird and The Directors Bureau. She has creative directed for global brand leaders at Google, Coke, Aspirin and more with various agencies such as Brazilian based MESA, Berlin based 17 Sport and LA based Passerine.
Her social-political thriller Val-En-Tina starring Emmy nominated Jon Lindstrom (True Detective) and Marisol Sacramento was an official selection for Les Femmes Underground Int’l Film Festival and Official Latino Short Film Festival. In 2020 she was selected to be a fellow for the AICP and DGA sponsored CDDP Program.
Araeia is currently developing a slate of TV and feature film IP that ranges from magical realism and dark comedy to elevated thrillers. Her mission is to create transformative stories that allow BIPOC characters to be their fullest most three dimensional selves.
